LATCH - £2592.41
About the Charity
LATCH was formed in 1982 by a group of families and friends who recognised that the children diagnosed with cancer or leukaemia and their families not only needed medical support, but also social and welfare support to ease the huge financial and emotional burden placed on families with a child on treatment.
The Nomination
The nomination was received from John at Promotive, he said "Latch is looking to purchase specialist buggies (rather than wheel chairs) to assist mobility of children after treatment. They cost £280 each. They purchase twenty a year but would welcome any financial support whether it's to fund just one or two buggies. I've been a supporter of LATCH for thirty years and have seen first-hand the tremendous work they do to support children with cancer and leukemia".
The Salvation Army - £2592.41
About the Charity

The Nomination
This nomination was received from our Masterserve garage, Whittaker Fleet Care based in Birmingham. David Whittaker the owner said in his nomination "The Salvation Army takes me back to my youth, when I first encountered their familiar but genuine presence in various "hostelries" around the town. I was then motivated to collect for them in the centre of town on their special awareness day. Times and attitudes have changed but their non-political agenda; combined with a grass roots approach makes the Salvation Army the charity of choice for us".

British Heart Foundation - £6529.95
ARI's National Charity for 2016 was The British Heart Foundation .
Each year the Masterserve Foundation will support a national charity. This year it is the . A long term customer of Holman who by default, also has a long association with the Masterserve garage network. They will receive an annual award which will accrue each quarter and be awarded in October 2016.
We are exceptionally pleased to tell you that we presented the cheque to Haylie Read and Julie Renfrew form the British Heart Foundation at the annual Masterserve Conference in October 2016. Haylie told us "We are the UK's number one heart charity and through 50 years of funding cutting edge research we have already made a big difference to people's lives. However, the landscape of heart disease is changing. More people survive a heart attack than ever before, and that combined with an ageing population means more people are now living with heart disease and need our help. By providing access to and innovative resources for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training, BHF aims to give people the skills and confidence to act when they witness a cardiac arrest and improve survival rates, thereby building a nation of lifesavers. To date BHF have helped to fund over 14,000 lifesaving defibrillators in the UK. Thank you so much for your support".
