The Bike Experience - £5315.91
About the Charity
The Bike Experience – helping disabled motorcyclists to ride again
The Bike Experience is a charity that teaches and advises motorcyclists who have been disabled how they can ride again, through the provision of an adapted and modified motorcycle which will allow them to ride in a safe environment using a logical step by step process. The Bike Experience was formed in April 2011, as there was no project in existence that taught disabled motorcyclists how to ride.
The Nomination
This moving nomination was recived from Terry at Five Oak Green Service Station and he said, "My son-in-law had a life changing accident in 2014 which left him paralysed from the waist down. He has spent the last 2 years adjusting his life and one of his main hobbies was riding his motor bikes, and The Bike Experience enabled him to ride his bike again. Terry is taking part in a 8k obstacle race with family and friends, a big challenge for Terry, to help raise money for the Bike Experience funds. To see my son-in-law back on a bike last year at brands hatch was a dream come true and the charity are hoping to give this opportunity to more riders, when funds are in place."
